Colour
As I mentioned we're designing a textiles museum for this final project. I've been doing a bit of initial research into textiles, the industries that have died down and already existing textiles museums. One thing that I have noticed are the bright colours that are linked to the threads that are woven together, alongside the fluroescence of the Fashion and Textiles Museum in London by the Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta.
I wonder whether such crazy colours can be used in an urban or suburban situation. Looking around the vicinty, there are turquoise tiles, yellow gates, red graffiti. Last night we had an open lecture at uni with Alex de Rijke of drmm architects, and he's pro-colour in architecture... so why not?
