Surprise Snaps

Ok, so, our house isn't the tidiest on the planet, but sometimes this isn't such a bad thing. A disposible camera has been sitting on the hi-fi for... apparently years, because when I got home I found it with a few snaps left on it. I took the little thing on a couple of summer expeditions and just had it developed.

Most of the photos were from my brother's prize giving 5 years ago - oh, how we've changed!! I especially loved how the pictures came out from the last couple of weeks, you can't beat the raw, point-and-shoot style. Digital is great, but manual can be full of surprises.

Great Pickings

Yesterday my friend Steph and I went fruit picking at Garson's Farm. We got so excited when we found a hearty bunch of strawbs, so good to see a wide range of sizes and shapes - proves how selective the supermarkets are. There were lots of little kids picking with their parents and grandparents, learning where produce actually comes from.

We picked raspberries and gooseberries too, so currently I'm thinking up a recipe or two to make some cakes with what I got. Tomorrow it's my 21st birthday so I'm preparing for my birthday barbeque at the weekend!

This summer I'm trying to complete this. It's 10 nice things to do this summer, and I've done two so far (my friend Ben and I have turned it into a bit of a competition!)

Stars and stripes

Yesterday I went and bought this collection of fabrics to make bunting, little keyrings, perhaps iPod cases for my thrift stall! We shall see how they turn out, the making process has begun...
