Seeing in 2012 I was in Strasbourg visiting Lauren with Craig. We slept in so late everyday, wandered into town and generally just enjoyed each others company. It's so nice to do something different with a couple of your best buds and not make a big deal out of NYE.

Light Show
On my first night in Strasbourg we lay down on the cobbles and watched the light display on the cathedral. It's a gothic beauty, enhanced even more by the light display. At the weekend I went to my cousin's band's gig at a festival called Rock am Wald in Eggenstein, near Karlsruhe and had a great time rocking out with the Germans!

I ♥ Courgettes
On holiday in France last summer we ate courgettes from the gite's vegetable patch, cooked like this - sliced with plenty of garlic. Delicious!

Lille

On Friday, bright and early, we jumped on a coach and went to France. In Canterbury we're so close to Europe and within an hour we can be across the Channel. Our new (and final) project is based on a site in the suburb called Wazemme to design a textile museum. I love knitting and craft so I am looking forward to seeing how I can weave (pun intended) this into my scheme!

Longing eyes
I'm also longing to go back to Monday night and listen to John Mayer again. I keep remembering bits 'n pieces from the night, such as him singing 'Waiting in Vain' - I love the version by Annie Lennox.

Snaps
My films have been developed from our holiday in France, here are some of the best bits! I'm especially happy how the knitting needles came out!

Bon voyage
Early tomorrow morning my family and I are heading on a long(ish) journey down to the Dordogne in France! I'm looking forward to more constant sunny weather, dipping in the pool, reading and relaxing, and wandering through the quaint villages and markets!
Travelling makes me think of where I really really want to go! I tell my friends all the time that I want to go to South America. Cuba - before it changes too much more, Argentina - Buenos Aires just looks like my kind of place, and any other country on the way! My brother went last year as did my friend Xenia - both their photos look AMAZING!
Next year maybe! As for now,
Au revoir mes amis!
Afterthought: the other day I found a Cuban coin in my purse, must've been mistaken for a 5p. Coincidence?! I think not, it's meant to be!
